“Black lives matter but Bahu to Gori Hi Chaiye” TV Actress Nia Sharma protests in a unique way

While the US is on fire due to the outrage and protests against the death of the George Floyd, 46-year-old black man, entire world has come ahead to join the protests over social media with the #BlackLivesMatter.

There are many Indian celebrities and personalities who are already talking about the issue and are supporting the protests by taking to their social handles. Infact, earlier this Tuesday,  ‘Blackout Tuesday’ began as a protest against George Floyd’s death in which everyone filled their social media and profile pictures with black boxes and many artists, musicians, actors, teams, foundations supported the  protest.

But here comes Tv actress Nia Sharma who has her own unique way of protesting as she recently took to instagram and shared a comment of a twitterati on her post which read, “Black lives matter but bahu to gori hi chaiye” with a caption “Paradoxically Perfect!”

As soon as her post landed on her Instagram account, a lot of followers, industry people and other netizans supported her thought and showed an overwhelming response. One of the users named dimpy_dipika commented on her post, “True …I have been rejected by many candidates bcz of my skin complexion …😞😢 Now I have decided that it’s better to stay single rather then rejection…Bohu to Mei v banaa chahti the..” to which Nia replies, “that’s not rejection my friend.. that’s called getting rid of dumb and dumbers. You’re safe!” Whereas another user named _gulia.12 wrote,” Sometimes it’s feels like being dusky is a crime or my fault, but I love my skin tone, and now I accepted it, ❤️” to which actress Nia who herself has a dark complexion replied,” I love mine too ❤️.”

Few of the actors also reacted to her post, one of them Nakul Mehta wrote, “Class 👏” and even TV actress Tina Datta wrote, “Ohh soo true🙏”

But of course, amidst all the love, you always have to face hatred and opposition as one of the netizens commented on the actor’s post, “What about your makeup and fairness cream endorsements?” to which Nia very boldly replied, “never endorsed Mam! And makeup is a part of our profession.”

On the work front, actress Nia Sharma is currently seen in Ekta Kapoor’s daily soap on colors TV ‘Naagin 4’ opposite Vijayendra Kumeria.
