Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the voters of Bihar via Twitter to leave the houses for the first phase of voting in the Corona era with caution.
In the tweet, he said, “Today is the first-round voting in Bihar assembly elections. I urge all voters to ensure their participation in this festival of democracy, taking precautions related to Kovid. Keep attention for two yards, wear a mask. Remember, vote first, then refreshments. “
Earlier, the Prime Minister had informed through a tweet that he is reaching Bihar today i.e. on October 28, where he will hold rallies in Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, and the capital Patna. Counter to this Rahul Gandhi is also in the state and is all set to campaign for his party throughout the elections.
First round polling begins:
In the first phase of elections, the maximum number of 27 candidates are in the fray for the Gaya Town Assembly seat while the lowest five candidates are in the fray in the Katoriya Assembly constituency of Banka district.
Many prominent leaders are in the fray in the first phase of elections. 27-year-old Shreyasi Singh, who won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games shooting from Jamui, is contesting on a BJP ticket.
Chirag Paswan is MP from Jamui Lok Sabha constituency and has supported Shreyasi Singh. Shreyasi is pitted against RJD’s Vijay Prakash Yadav.
Vijay Prakash Yadav was elected MLA from Jamui in 2015. Vijay Prakash Yadav is the brother of former Union Minister Jayaprakash Yadav. Jayaprakash Yadav’s daughter Divya Prakash is also contesting from Tarapur assembly constituency.
Apart from this, Prem Kumar of BJP from Gaya Town, Vijay Kumar Sinha from Lakhisarai, Ramnarayan Mandal from Banka, Krishnanandan Prasad Sinha from Jehanabad, Jaikumar Singh from Dinara, and Santosh Kumar from Rajpur are in Nirala.
From Imamganj, former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi is in the fray and is pitted against RJD by Uday Narayan Chaudhary. Uday Narayan Chaudhary has come from JDU to RJD.
