Big Blow to Mamata Banerjee, Forest minister Rajiv banerjee resigns from the party and may join BJP

As the assembly elections in Bengal are approaching, the pace of resigning in the ruling Trinamool Congress is also increasing. On Friday, Forest Minister Rajiv Banerjee in the Mamta government resigned from his post. He has sent his resignation to Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, who stepped down as the state’s forest minister.

In his resignation, Rajiv Banerjee wrote, “It was a privilege to serve the people of Bengal. I thanks everyone for this opportunity.” Let us tell you that the assembly elections are due in Bengal this year and before that the leaders of Trinamool Congress are constantly resigning the party portfolio. Two more ministers have resigned before Rajiv Banerjee.

The first leader, Suvendu Adhikari, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah last month after he resigned as Transport Minister in November. After this, Laxmi Ratna Shukla left her ministerial post a few days ago. Many Trinamool Congress MLAs, local leaders have also quit the party and joined the BJP. At the same time, there is speculation that Rajiv Banerjee may join the BJP soon.
