Preparations are underway at the Shivaji Park Stadium in Mumbai for the oath-taking ceremony of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, who will be sworn-in as the 18th Chief Minister of Maharashtra today. Thackeray will be the third Sena leader after Manohar Joshi and Narayan Rane to occupy the chief minister’s post.
Six ministers being sworn in Maharashtra are Balasaheb Thorat, Nitin Raut (Cong), Chaggan Bhujbal, Jayant Patil (NCP), Subhash Desai, Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena).
“I am not taking oath today. Today six leaders will be taking oath from each party (Shiv Sena, NCP, Congress). The decision of Deputy Chief Minister is yet to be taken by the party,” Ajit Pawar said.
DMK president MK Stalin arrives in Mumbai. He will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new government of the state, led by Shiv Sena chief and ‘Maha Vikas Aghadi’ Uddhav Thackeray as the Chief Minister, today.
