After the turmoil in Maharashtra politics, state is all set to go under president rule.
Governor Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari recommended President’s rule in the state under Article 356 of the Indian Constitution.
“The Governor of Maharashtra Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari having been satisfied that as the government of the State of Maharashtra cannot be carried on in accordance with the Constitution, has today submitted a report as contemplated by the provisions of Art.356 of the Constitution.” Governor’s office said in a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind.
As the political crisis deepens in Maharashtra politics,the state is all set to go under president rule. Right after the election results, it was expected that BJP-Shiv Sena alliance will form the government with Devendra Fadnavis as the CM face but Shiv Sena’s rebel attitude lead to the alliance break.
After elections, governor Maharashtra called highest leading party BJP to prove mandate but as Shiv Sena backed off, BJP was not able to form government. After BJP, governor Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari called Shiv Sena, the second leading party to prove mandate and form government.
Shiv Sena asked for 48 hours to prove mandate and governor disapproved their request because of their radical supporters which can create a turbulence and panic situation in the state.
