After Oscars, Grammys fails to mention Lata Mangeshkar, Bappi Lahiri: Netizens fume.

After Oscar Award Ceremony, now Grammy Awards 2022 also did not pay tribute to Indian playback singer Lata Mangeshkar. The 2022 Grammys in Memoriam segment paid tribute to Late Broadway musicians Stephen Sondheim, Taylor Hawkins and Tom Parker. However, did not name Lata Mangeshkar or Bappi Lahiri, who passed away this year. Fans have expressed their displeasure over this on social media.

Another fan wrote, #Grammys #LataMangeshkar Remembering all the musicians who died at the Grammys last year. By not remembering Lata Mangeshkar, she has made a big mistake.

Earlier, the Academy remembered Irrfan Khan, Bhanu Athaiya, Sushant Singh Rajput and Rishi Kapoor in the in Memoriam section. So, when the names of the legendary singers were not taken in the in Memoriam section of both the Oscars and Grammys, fans were shocked.

Started career at the age of 13
Lata Mangeshkar died on 6 February 2022 due to covid at the age of 92. Born on 28 September 1929, Lata started her career in 1942 at the age of 13. In a career spanning over seven decades, he recorded songs for over a thousand Hindi films. He also recorded songs in over 36 regional and foreign languages. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, in 2001.
