Aditi Singh slams Priyanka Gandhi over denial of ticket to her husband in Punjab elections.

Former MLA Aditi Singh attacked Priyanka Gandhi by calling her ‘hypocrite’ for her denial of party ticket to her husband in upcoming Punjab assembly elections.

Training her guns at the Congress General Secretary, Aditi Singh claimed that her husband was being pressured to comment against her.

Furious Aditi Singh alleged harassment by Priyanka Gandhi asked she pressurised her husband as she pressurised her husband to speak against her.

Further, Aditi took a jibe at Congress’s slogan ‘ladki hun lad sakti hun’. She said, “I am a girl and am fighting continuously.”

Ms Singh, former MLA from Raebareli, has switched over to the BJP and is the party candidate in the Uttar Pradesh elections that start this month. Her husband Angad Singh Saini, current Congress MLA from Punjab’s Nawanshahr assembly, was not renominated by the party and has filed his nomination as an independent candidate.

Angad Singh Saini, told in an interview that Congress prioritised his personal life over his work for the party to deny him a ticket.

“The party has denied me a ticket and was forcing me to do something which was against my principles. I have filed my nomination as an independent,” he had said and added that it’s “unfortunate” that his personal life, and not his work, was taken into consideration.

On January 20, Aditi Singh had tendered an official letter of resignation from the party and her MLA seat. Copies of which she shared on her Twitter handle.

Punjab votes in a single phase on February 20. Counting of votes for both states will be done on March 10.
