Wajid Khan, one of the khans from Sajid-Wajid musical duo died on Monday aged 42 in a Mumbai hospital. He was suffering from a kidney infection and was in critical state.
Not even a month passed by to Irrfan khan’s and Rishi Kapoor’s demise that the Bollywood is hit by another shocking news of music composer Wajid Khan.
โHe had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection,” singer Salim Merchant added to news agency PTI.
“He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical.”
Merchant confirmed the devastating news of Khan’s demise on Twitter, writing that he was “shocked and broken” by the news.
The veteran composer is believed to have been diagnosed with Covid-19 as well, according to entertainment journalist Faridoon Shahryar which simply worsened his condition.
The Bollywood took to social media to offer condolences and express their grief and pain about this devastating news.
Playback singer Nigam was also among the first to confirm the news, posting an image with Khan on Instagram with the caption: “My brother Wajid left us.”
Actor Varun Dhawan took to his twitter to express the grief by posting the picture of the music composer with his father David Dhawan revealing the closeness of the music composer with their family.
Music composer-singer Wajid Khan will always be remembered not only for his music but also the smiles he had spread wherever he went.
Musical duo, first scored music for Salman Khan’s Pyar kiya toh Darna kya in 1998. In 1999, they scored music for Sonu Nigam’s album Deewaana, which included the songs “Deewaana Tera”, “Ab Mujhe Raat Din” and “Iss Kadar Pyaar Hai”. The same year, they worked as music directors for the film Hello Brother and wrote the songs “Hata Saawan Ki Ghata”, “Chupke Se Koi Aayega” and “Hello Brother”.
They have composed music for several films such as Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai (2002), Gunaah (2002), Chori Chori (2003), Tere Naam (2003), Garv (2004),Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Partner (2007), Dabangg (2010) and many other movies.
The Duo recently worked on Salman’s songs, “Pyaar Karona” and “Bhai Bhai”, which was released on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr which the actor released on his YouTube channel.
