66th Vimal Elaichi Filmfare Awards 2021: Taapsee Pannu’s ‘Thappad’ and Amitabh Bachchan’s Gulabo Sitabo wins the race with the maximum number of Awards.

The Coronavirus pandemic has changed many things including the award-giving ceremony, and this year’s Filmfare Awards also imbibed a similar path.

Owing to the pandemic, the 66th Vimal Elaichi Filmfare Awards 2021 were announced through the digital platform.

While actors Rajkummar Rao and Ritesh Deshmukh hosted the awards night, there were Bollywood stars that did turn up to perform at the event.

To say that 2020 was a tough year for the film industry would be a massive understatement. But in tough times, the film industry came together as one to ensure that the magic of cinema would not be extinguished amid the raging Coronavirus pandemic.

Film Fare Awards 2021 Celebrated the best of last year’s performances in various cinema-related fields.

There was a sense of sadness as well as pride when the late Irfan Khan’s name was announced as the Best Actor in a Leader Category (Male) for his brilliant performance in Angrezi Medium.

While the biggest breakout achiever of the award night was Taapsee Pannu’s movie Thappad which swept trophy in all the 7 major categories such as Best Film, Best Actor (Female), Best Story, Best Playback Singer, Best Background Score, Best Editing and Best Sound Design.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Gulabo Sitabo was also close to Thappad by winning 6 iconic black ladies in the field of Best Actor (Critics), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female), Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Cinematography, Best Dialogue.
