World Butterfly Day was observed by SheWings and the UP Biodiversity Board

14th March 2023 (New Delhi):Butterflies frequently provide colour to life. Yet if these hues start to go from the natural world, then consider how our natural eco system would start to break down. Together, the U.P. Biodiversity Board, SheWings, the Forest Department, and Gautam Buddh Nahar delivered this message about butterfly conservation to every home.

Children learned about the value of butterflies, biodiversity, and forests at a session held at Chetram School Sadarpur in Noida. 
How to spread this message among their families, coworkers, and society was explained to them.Moreover, SheWings created a contest for female students. Along with the representatives from the Forest, DS Group, Clovia, and the school’s principal made a significant contribution to this programme.

The significance of March 14

March 14 is International Butterfly Day, a day to recognise and educate people about butterflies, which are among the most exquisite and vibrant animals on earth. Because they assist in pollinating flowers, butterflies are significant organisms. But more than that, we enjoy having them around us because they are aesthetically attractive.

Flying insects with wide, delicate wings are known as butterflies. They are loved by everyone, including adults and kids who chase and play with them because of their beautiful body and plumage. 

The four stages of a butterfly’s life cycle, or metamorphosis, are incredibly exciting to see as they change from one stage to the next.In the past, experts who study evolution think that butterflies originated from moths about 40 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period.
They first appeared between 40 million and 135 million years ago, and over the centuries, they underwent numerous evolutionary changes to form the species we see today.

The goal of Butterfly Day is to raise awareness and provide education about butterflies and their value to the ecosystem for all ages. More than just being beautiful, a strong butterfly population is a sign of a healthy environment due to their dual function as predator and prey.

Open your textbooks and go online to learn something new about butterflies that you didn’t know. To join in on the pleasure, impart this knowledge to others, especially kids.

Create Your Own Butterfly: 

Get your partner, children, relatives, or friends and use the most imaginative things you can find to create butterflies. It might be an artwork or an edible butterfly.
