Watch Video: Ball boy catches stunning catch behind the ropes
In cricket catches make you win matches and in a do-or-die situation, a dropped catch can be a deciding factor. Mitchell Santner paid the price of dropping the catch of Virat Kohli’s when he was batting on 29, piling on the runs and the misery on a hot and sultry evening in Mumbai.
During the course of his innings, Kohli pulled with great effect, hammering three sixes in the same region. One such six was caught in great style at the boundary, and unfortunately for the visitors, it landed where there were no fielders. But the ball was caught so cleanly by a ball boy guarding the area that he stole everybody’s heats who were watching the stunning catch.
This ball boy at the Wankhede stadium on Sunday caught everyone’s attention after he took a stunning one-handed catch behind boundary ropes during the first ODI between India and New Zealand. The incident happened on the second delivery of the 25th over when Adam Milne bowled a short delivery to Indian skipper Virat Kohli and the right-hander pulled the ball away to fine leg.
The ball did go away for a maximum but it was caught by the ball boy who was sitting in that particular area behind the ropes.
