Tragic Repeat: Five Family Members Found Hanging in MP, Echoing Delhi’s Burari Incident
In a deeply disturbing incident, authorities in Alirajpur, Madhya Pradesh, discovered the bodies of five family members in what appears to be a case of mass suicide at their home in Ravdi village. Early on Monday morning, the police responded to an alert and found Rakesh Dodwa (27), his wife Lalita Dodwa (25), and their children Laxmi (9), Prakash (7), and Akshay (5) hanging inside their residence. The distressing report, received at 7 AM, prompted a thorough investigation led by the Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) of Alirajpur.
This tragedy mirrors a similar incident in Gujarat last year, where seven family members, including three children, were found dead, six from poisoning and one by hanging. Financial troubles were cited in a suicide note discovered at the scene.
The Alirajpur case also recalls other heartbreaking events, such as the mass suicide of nine family members in Maharashtra’s Mhaisal village in 2022, and the infamous Burari incident in Delhi, where 11 family members died under similar circumstances four years earlier. The bodies in Alirajpur have been sent for autopsy as investigators work to unravel the factors leading to this tragic event, while the community grapples with the emotional aftermath and seeks answers.
