Times Now files theft case against Arnab Goswami !
Arnab Goswami led Republic is getting into new controversy day by day after making two big exposes one where Republic broadcasted audio tapes of conversation between former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad and Shahabuddin and another of conversation between Sridevi who was a former news reporter for Times Now, and Sunanda Pushkar.
Owing to this employers of Bennett, Coleman & Co Ltd filed a complaint accusing Goswami and reporter of Republic TV Prema Sridevi of copyright infringement.
A complaint has been filed at the Azad Maidan Police Station in Mumbai accused the journalists of theft, criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of property and infringement of IPR of BCCL. The contention in the complaint was that the duo used material belonging to Times Now on their new media venture Republic TV on multiple occasions on May 6 and May 8, 2017.
As per Economic Times in its complaint, BCCL has said those audio tapes were “procured and accessed” by former Editor-In-Chief of Times Now Goswami and Sridevi while they were employed with Times Now.
Earlier also BCCL had sent a legal notice to Republic over the issue of using the phrase- “Nation Wants to Know”.
