Tightening The Noose: Kapil Sharma And Irrfan Khan Slips Into Legal Trouble As Cops Prosecute Both

Months after the comedian tweeted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the alleged bribery case from a BMC officer for the construction of his new office, comes the legal trouble for the duo. The comedian Kapil Sharma and Bollywood superstar Irrfan Khan is seen as the law is tightening its noose around them. After BMC had lodged a complaint against the duo for illegal construction in their DLH Enclave in Oshiwara, the police have now launched proceedings to prosecute both the actor along with four others, including a developer, as part of the investigation.

In a large scale violation of illegal construction was found in the apartment, the Oshiwara Police Station Inspector says “It has been found that the accused carried out alterations after the apartments were purchased, and the developer helped them in such renovations,” the officer too confirmed, “the investigation is over.”

It all started after the comedian tweeted that a BMC officer demanded bribery of Rs 5 lacs for the construction for his new office in the city. However, BMC in their defence took the case on a different route when they found out that unauthorised work was carried out on the 9th floor of the building, where Sharma has a flat. It listed unauthorised merger of elevation features, ducts, voids, common passage and part podium for parking. Irrfan Khan too, who owns a flat on the fifth floor of the building got dragged into the case for the same reason. The alterations were carried out contrary to the full occupation certificate issued by the P-South ward office in November 2013.
