This pregnant news anchor gives birth to a baby boy after her water broke on air
When you work in live TV, you have to be prepared for anything to happen. When you’re a pregnant news anchor near the end of your pregnancy, that’s doubly true. Natalie Pasquarella, a TV news anchor for New York’s NBC 4, was just doing her job and delivering the news when a whole other type of delivery began to happen. The heavily pregnant news anchor’s water broke as she wrapped up a segment toward the end of the 11 p.m. broadcast on Sept. 26.
Pasquarella didn’t exclaim or run offset, though. She handled it like a pro, simply emitting a small giggle at the moment when she realized her water had broke. Pasquarella waited until the newscast was finished to tell her colleagues that she was going into labour, and they then helped get her to the hospital.
After a 13-hour labour, Pasquarella and her husband, Jamin Pastore, welcomed into the world their baby son, Jamin James. Although Jamin James was born a bit early, he was healthy and weighed in at 5 pounds, 6 ounces. The anchor took to Twitter to let everyone know that mom, dad and baby were all doing well:
A beautiful blessing decided to make his entrance early! Thankful for all of the well wishes. Our hearts are full! https://t.co/z7cFuqu96P pic.twitter.com/ehGmVGfJw8

“A beautiful blessing decided to make his entrance early! Thankful for all of the well wishes. Our hearts are full!” she wrote on the site alongside a photo of herself looking perfectly camera-ready as she and her husband gazed lovingly at their newborn son.
About a week earlier, the anchor had posted a photo to Instagram, proudly displaying her growing baby bump and announcing to followers that she had “just about a month to go.”
Jamin James obviously had other plans and apparently just couldn’t wait any longer to meet his mom and dad! Viewers responded on social media to congratulate the couple and comment on the little guy’s dramatic entrance:
“I just heard this in Lowell, MA. This story is blowing up! I’m pretty sure that you’re getting a raise after this! Congrats to the 3 of you!” read one comment on Twitter.
“Congratulations!!! Love the story of how your little one made his entrance! Enjoy and savour every moment!” said another via Instagram.
Wishing all the best to the happy family!
