The New IT Trailer Will Haunt Your Dreams Like Forever, Watch Video!
I remember having read Stephen King’s horror novel IT, when I was in high school. Though it didn’t make me actually scared of clowns, I did have a couple of nightmares with scary clowns that made me wake up at the night, sweating. I had also seen the two part mini-series, based on the book, that was made in the ’90s. However, apart from the terrifying performance of Tim Curry as the clown, the movie as a whole failed to work out. Now it looks like 2017 will manage to rectify that by making a proper adaptation of the novel.
Bill Skarsgard plays the demonic clown this time, and going by the trailer, he is equally terrifying as that of Tim Curry’s rendition. The trailer may not have jump scares like that of Annabelle: Creation, but there are enough moments of terror in there. For those who have a genuine fear of clowns, please stay away. Stranger Things fans will obviously draw parallels of the trailer with their favourite series, and I won’t blame them. After all, both are about a bunch of kids taking on something unworldly and terrifying. Plus, there is the common factor of Finn Wolfhard who played Mike Wheeler in Stranger Things, though he looks geekier here. However, you have to remember that IT is based on a novel written in the ’80s, where kids taking on demons was a fairly common theme like for example The Goonies and the Monster Squad. Stranger Things is a tribute to the movies of that era, including IT.
IT is directed by Andrés Muschietti and also stars Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, Nicholas Hamilton, and Jackson Robert Scott. Like the mini-series, even IT could be divided into two parts, with the second part coming next year. As of now, IT is scheduled to release in September.
