Surya and Shami in Team 11 can be the best combination against mighty Kiwis

New Delhi: The Indian cricket team has been on a rampage this World Cup, winning all its first four matches quite convincingly. The team till now has looked invincible and it shows on the points table with the Indian team placed number two, up in the race to make it to the semifinals.

But the Sunday encounter with New Zealand is going to be a challenging task for the team simply because they have not been able to defeat the keys in the big World Cup matches in the past.

While the team combination looked absolutely perfect. Till now, the injury of is all-rounder. Hardik Pandya has put the team balance in a bit of a dock.

Suryakumar Yadav: A Promising Replacement for Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury while he was bowling in the match against Bangladesh on Wednesday. As per management, he will not be able to play in the match against New Zealand tomorrow. In his absence, experts say that Suryakumar Yadav can be a handy replacement simply because of his sharp skills and impact as a middle-order batsman.

There are other options in the form of wicket-keeper batsman, Ishan Kishan, but with KL Rahul already in the team as a wicketkeeper, chances of him making it into team 11 are quite bleak.

It’s in that scenario, that Surya Kumar Yadav becomes the hot favourite to be included in the team 11 for the match against New Zealand.

Strategic Move: Mohammed Shami’s Inclusion Bolsters Bowling Attack

In another change of scheme of things, the Indian team would like to play, one more specialist, a bowler, especially keeping in view the batting strength of the New Zealand team which has been on the rampage all the season.

Over the past four matches, Shardul Thakur’s performance has not been up to task as per many and Mohammed Shami who has been warming the bench will be called in to replace Thakur playing 11.

Shami has had a great season this year, his bowling performance has been really good coming up to the World Cup and hence it becomes an obvious choice. If the team wants to play another specialist, bowler against the Kiwis in the match.

Both New Zealand and India have been unbeaten in the World Cup till now and both of them would want to beat one another to remain and beat and going forward. The top four teams and the table make it to the semifinals which will be played later.
