New Delhi: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s visit to actor Salman Khan’s home in Mumbai’s Bandra, following the recent incident where shots were fired outside the actor’s residence, marked a significant display of government support and solidarity with the Bollywood icon. As Mr. Khan warmly welcomed the Chief Minister, security measures around the area were visibly heightened, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
Inside the actor’s home, Eknath Shinde engaged in discussions not only with Salman Khan but also with his father, the esteemed screenplay writer Salim Khan, as well as political figure Baba Siddiqui and his son Zeeshan. Addressing reporters afterward, Shinde reiterated the government’s firm stance, assuring Khan of their unwavering support and commitment to resolving the matter swiftly and decisively.
Expressing determination to address the issue of organized crime, particularly mentioning the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Shinde conveyed a resolute message that such criminal activities would not be tolerated under any circumstances. The arrest of the suspects linked to Bishnoi’s gang further underscored the government’s proactive approach in tackling criminal elements.
The Chief Minister’s prompt response to the incident, including his prior phone conversation with Salman Khan and coordination with the Mumbai Police Commissioner to enhance the actor’s security, demonstrated a proactive stance toward ensuring the safety of public figures, particularly in light of persistent threats from organized crime syndicates.
Salman Khan’s elevated security status since November 2022, which includes Y-Plus security, authorization to carry a personal firearm, and provision of an armored vehicle, reflects the seriousness with which potential threats to his safety are regarded. These measures underscore the need for vigilance and proactive measures to safeguard individuals in the public eye against potential risks posed by criminal elements such as Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar.
