Indian Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan Shares Heartbreaking Message on Son Zoravar’s Birthday

In a poignant Instagram post, Shikhar Dhawan opened up about not being able to see his nine-year-old son, Zoravar, for a year. The cricketer, who went through a divorce with ex-wife Ayesha Mukherjee, expressed pride in his son but revealed facing challenges in contacting him.

Dhawan mentioned that he has been blocked from all communication for nearly three months and posted a photo of a video call with Zoravar. The divorce, granted in October, cited ‘cruelty’ as the grounds, with allegations of being kept apart from his son and pressured into financial decisions.

Despite court-ordered visitation rights, Dhawan faces difficulties in connecting with his son. He wrote, ‘It’s been a year since I saw you in person… Papa always misses you and loves you. He’s always positive, waiting with a smile for the time when we will meet again by the Grace of God.’

Dhawan urged Zoravar to be positive, humble, and compassionate, expressing love despite the physical distance. The cricketer claimed emotional and physical distance during their eight-year marriage, citing pressures to invest in Australian properties.

The court granted Dhawan visitation rights but did not rule on permanent custody. Dhawan and Mukerji, who married in 2012 and separated in 2020, have not publicly commented on the divorce
