RoHIT Sharma jumps to 5th spot in ODI ranking.
Rohit Sharma joins Virat Kohli in the list of top ten ODI batsmen. Rohit Sharma climbs up to the 5th spot in the ranking overtaking the likes of Amla and Joe Root who have been in exceptional form. Rohit Sharma has scored 11 centuries post 2015 World Cup (equal to Kohli) and he was not in a good form all the while. He struggled with injuries and string of low scores more than once. He has a knack of coming back stronger every time he is down.
In the absence of Kohli, Rohit played against Sri Lanka as a stand-in Captain. India suffered a terrible loss in the first game and Sri Lanka was seen as a contender to win the series. But Sharma had some different plans. His SMASHED 3rd double century putting India in a very strong place.
Rohit deserves every bit of that place in the ranking and his record shows that. All his double hundreds have come in a very crucial time for the team. He has always had that thing to play a very long inning every time he gets set.
This is not the final place for Rohit Sharma in the ranking. It seems he will go higher. And the way he makes his double centuries look so easy, no prize for guessing that we are going to see more of it.
