Rescue team reaches inside Uttarkashi tunnel, good news to arrive soon
41 workers trapped in the accident that took place in the under construction tunnel of Uttarkashi on the day of Diwali can come out soon. Today is the 12th day of rescue.
NDRF and SDRF teams have reached inside the tunnel. Good news may be received shortly. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is also reported to reach the tunnel soon.
President of the International Tunneling and Underground Space Association (ITA), Prof. Arnold Dix has praised the rescue operation being conducted to save 41 workers trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel. He said that in tunnel-related accidents, when he arrives for rescue, most of the people trapped inside have already died. Whereas who ever is alive, efforts are being made day and night to bring them out.
Arnold Dix said that in the rescue operation, various options are being worked on simultaneously to save the people trapped inside. Sensing the danger in each option, work is being done.
The rebar had become an obstacle in front of the auger drilling machine. After some time the work started, but then the stone came in between. The work of laying the tenth and final pipe is in progress. According to the information received, drilling can be completed in two to four hours. So far 54 meters of drilling has been done. Only 5 to 6 meters of drilling is left.
