Pune Porsche Crash: Police Arrest Mother for Allegedly Swapping Blood Sample with Minor Son’s

The Pune City police have taken a significant step forward in the investigation of the Porsche car crash case by arresting the mother of the minor boy accused. She is facing charges of allegedly providing her blood to swap with her son’s sample taken after the incident.

This development comes after the earlier arrests of Dr. Ajay Taware, the former head of the forensic department at Sassoon Hospital, Dr. Shrihari Harnol, the casualty medical officer at the time, and Atul Ghatkamble, a Class IV employee. They were apprehended for their suspected involvement in changing the minor’s blood sample, purportedly in exchange for financial favors.

The police are also poised to take the custody of the father for further investigation into the blood sample swapping. The incident occurred on May 19 when the minor boy, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, was reportedly driving the Porsche at high speed, resulting in a collision with two software engineers on a bike, leading to their fatalities.

According to the police investigation, Dr. Taware had engaged in as many as 14 phone calls with the minor’s father in the two hours preceding the collection of the boy’s blood sample on the morning of May 19.

Additionally, the Pune city police have obtained permission from the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) to conduct an inquiry into the minor boy’s involvement. This inquiry aims to gather further insights into the accident case, including the swapping of blood samples at Sassoon Hospital following the incident. Police sources indicate that they may question the minor boy at the observation home in the coming days, with the presence of his family members and a child protection officer during the interrogation.
