PM Modi To Inaugurate Metro In Kochi, Would Become The First Passenger
On this coming Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will become the first passenger who will take a ride in the Kochi Metro which he will inaugurate. However, the news came as a pinch of spice as the people are not been very welcoming as it hints at the snubbing of ‘Metro Man’, E Sreedharan.
As the list of arrangements was made public, people were quick to point out the exclusion of E Sreedharan from the special and VIP guests who will be seated next to Modi.
The construction of Metro in Kochi began in 2012, the responsibility of which was handed to Delhi Metro Rail Corp where Sreedharan was the top advisor. According to the news site, Manorama, Sreedharan said that “there was nothing unusual about the decision and that he accepted it.”
The metro route being inaugurated this week will run trains on a stretch of 25 km.
