Pappu pass ho gaya? public’s verdict establishes Congress rule in Karnataka for the next 5-years

The picture of the assembly elections in Karnataka is starting to clear. For the second consecutive time within six months, the BJP has suffered a major setback. After Himachal Pradesh, now the power of Karnataka has also gone out of the hands of the BJP. At the same time, the Congress, which is facing political crisis across the country, got a big victory. First Himachal Pradesh and now Karnataka elections can prove to be a lifeline for the Congress which is facing defeat in successive elections.

After the removal of BS Yeddyurappa from the post of Chief Minister, there was a situation of internal discord in the BJP. Various factions were formed within the party itself. Many leaders got angry and rebelled due to the distribution of tickets at the time of elections. Congress took advantage of this. The Congress took the rebels of the BJP with it. The party also benefited from this in the elections.

This is also a big reason. In the Karnataka elections, the BJP ended the four percent Muslim reservation and divided it among Lingayats and other classes. The party was expecting benefits from this, but at the last moment, Congress threw a big dice. In its election manifesto, the Congress announced to increase the scope of reservation from 50 percent to 75 percent. The promise of reservation gave a big advantage to the Congress.

It gave advantage to Congress emotionally. The Congress made Mallikarjun Kharge the national president of the party before the elections. Kharge comes from the Dalit community of Karnataka. In such a situation, the Congress emotionally connected the people of Karnataka with the party through Kharge. Its message went well among the Dalit voters as well. Kharge mentioned this from election rallies.

Rahul Gandhi had taken out Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Jammu and Kashmir. Most of the time of this journey was spent in Karnataka only. This was part of a larger strategy of Rahul Gandhi. Through this visit, Rahul strengthened the Congress in Karnataka. Ended internal fighting. Brought Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar together and its benefits are now being seen in the elections.
