In such a situation, the Congress emotionally connected the people of Karnataka with the party through Kharge. Its message went well among the Dalit voters as well. Kharge mentioned this from election rallies.

Rahul Gandhi had taken out Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Jammu and Kashmir. Most of the time of this journey was spent in Karnataka only. This was part of a larger strategy of Rahul Gandhi.
