1. Multinational Citizenship.
Roger Federer was born on 8 August 1981 in Basel, Switzerland to Lynette and Robert Federer. His father is from Switzerland and his mother is from South Africa. His parents met while his father was on a trip to South Africa and since his parents belong from two different countries, Federer was able to get citizenship for both Switzerland and South Africa.
2. Father of Double Twins!
Federer is married to former Women’s Tennis Association player Miroslava Federer, whom he met while they were both competing for Switzerland at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Miroslava usually known as Mirka gave birth to two identical twin girls in 2009, and later the Federers had another pair of identical twins, this time, the boys in 2014. Roger Federer is a proud father of 2 twin girls, Myla Rose and Charlene; and of 2 twin boys Leo and Lennart.
3. Roger Federer Allee!
You will be surprised to know that Roger Federer has a street named after him. There is a street in Halle, where the Gerry Weber tournament is held, called Roger Federer Allee.
4. Special Edition Stamps.
In 2007, the Swiss Post in Basel released a special edition stamp for Federer. Three years later in 2010, Federer was awarded a special edition stamp by Austria’s Postal Service.
5. He loves Pasta.
