Israeli-born actress Gal Gadot is facing backlash after sharing a statement in the midst of the heightening Israel-Palestine struggle this week. The Wonder Woman star, who has recently been criticised for her remarks on Israel-Palestine, expressed “My country is at war” and referred to Palestinians as “our neighbours.”

On Twitter, her words have been broadly condemned. Israel and Hamas-led militants have traded rocket fire this week; violence has likewise broken out in Israel between the nation’s Jewish and minority Arabic populace. The threats are the most extreme in seven years and have slaughtered more than 50 in Gaza, a large number of them kids, and seven in Israel including an Indian lady.

Gal Gadot, who served her mandatory two years in the Israeli defence Forces,” wrote in her post: “My heart breaks. My country is at war. I worry for my family, my friends. I worry for my people. This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation. Our neighbours deserve the same. I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace. I pray for better days.”

However, her post on Twitter was overflowed with answers that scrutinized her of being a “propaganda” instrument for Israel, given her previous military help record.

The kickback was so serious and disdainful that Gadot disabled the comments section to her tweet. She made a similar step on Instagram too.
