MUNAWAR FARUQUI IS CHANGING CAREER?

1st September 2022 (New Delhi): Munawar Faruqui is an Indian stand-up comedian who has found himself in controversies many times. He was born in Junagadh, Gujarat, on January 28, 1992, and is well known on YouTube for his comedy videos like Ghost Stories, Dawood, Yamraj & Aurat, and Doctor & Engineer.

These films of him have received a lot of attention from the public and have been viewed by over 12 million people. He released his first official video single, Jawab, in August 2020, in collaboration with Indian musician Spectra.

Munawar then embarked on a nationwide tour in October 2020, including a theatrical presentation in Indore, during which he was detained for disrespecting Hindu deities. After which his nationwide tour was canceled.

Career change?

Recently, his show was cancelled in Delhi, and now the comedian has shared a reel on Instagram where he can be seen in various situations showing the impact of his show cancellation. The comedian wrote in his caption: career update “Full Time Reeler.” Actually, it was a pun by Munawar on his shows being canceled.

Controversy

Munwar Faruqui has been deeply embroiled in controversies; he gets into difficulties every time he does stand-up comedy. The issue began on January 1, 2021, in Indore. While he was doing stand-up comedy in various cities as part of his tour called Dongri to Nowhere. During this time, he came for a show in Indore.

During the performance at Indore’s Munro Cafe, he was accused of making derogatory remarks about the Hindu deity Lord Ram and Sita along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Madhya Pradesh Police arrested him in the middle of his show on the next day (January 2, 2021). According to the police, he was arrested under Sections 295-A, 298, 269, 188, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
