The police initially registered the case as an accidental death, but after reviewing a CCTV video of the incident, they are now altering the case. The woman, identified as 39-year-old Pappathi, worked as a temporary sweeper at the Salem collectorate. She was a single mother, and her daughter was in her final year of Electronic Engineering, while her son was pursuing Architecture at a Polytechnic college. Pappathi’s son denies the reports and claims that their relatives have been helping them with the fees.
