Meta fired the marketing director, and will layoff approx 6,000 more employees worldwide

Meta has once again done mass layoffs in India. In the third round of layoffs, 6,000 jobs are at risk in Meta. This time Meta is going to lay off 6,000 of its employees all over the world. Last week, Manish Chopra, Meta’s director, and head of partnerships in India announced his resignation. Chopra joined Meta in 2019 and serves as its director and head of partnerships in India.

Now there is news that Meta has fired some big executives in India. According to a Moneycontrol report, some of the top executives in India including Avinash Pant, Marketing Director of Meta in India, Saket Jha Saurabh, Director of Media Partnerships, and Amrita Mukherjee, Legal Director at Meta India, were reportedly asked to step down.
Prior to joining Meta, Amrita was leading the legal team at Hotstar. It is being claimed in the report that Meta is going to lay off in many of its departments in India which include marketing, administration, human resources, and others. Meta has not yet given any official statement on these layoffs.

Expressing her feelings after being asked to leave the company, Surabhi Prakash, a business engineer at Meta, wrote on LinkedIn, “Sad, it’s over but glad it happened, the anxiety is finally over.” These layoffs have significantly affected other employees within the company.

Meta has been witnessing continuous layoffs since last year. Meta is set to lay off 10,000 more by the end of May. Since November last year till date, Meta has laid off around 21,000 people. Apart from this, new recruitments have also been banned for the time being.
