Meet Thane’s Woman Bouncer Who Is Watching You
Black t-shirt paired up with black trousers and formal shoes, meet the 29-year-old first woman bouncer of Thane. For her, the only motto is to keep away drunk men from women and to do away with the drunk men creating ruckus inside one of Thane’s most famous lounge. Having trained up in martial arts, she doubles her work with being a fitness trainer by day and a bouncer by night.
Meet Samiksha Kamble, a resident of Vasant Vihar in Thane took up the challenge of becoming a bouncer in Stained Glass at Glady Alwares Road. Initially, she heard the role of bouncers but never got the opportunity to step into the field which is dominated by men.
Hailing from the humble family, she lives with her ailing 75-year-old father, Ramchandra. Her mother lost her life to cancer five years back and that’s the time she took the responsibility of running the household on her broad shoulders. Not only this, a German film-maker had documented her life in an informative film which depicts her lifestyle.
“Mostly, men are hired by pubs and lounges in the cities to do away with the drunk patrons creating nuisance. But when I got the opportunity, I accepted it since it excited me,” says Samiksha.
“I manage to give early morning fitness training to my clients at Thane Gym and by evening I am ready to take care of the women attending the lounge and protect them from rowdies. Often we make sure that they reach home safely when they are tipsy,” added Kamble.
Kamble is also a national gold medallist in Kumite, a martial art form. On the other hand, she manages to run her household. “After my dad retired, I had to make sure that I earn to run the household and take care of him. I have to be aggressive in my professional life and a caring daughter in my personal life,” she said.
