MasterChef Australia fame Paul Douglas sentenced to 24-year imprisonment: Know More

Paul Douglas, a contestant on the famous cooking show MasterChef Australia, has been found guilty of sexually assaulting children. The court has sentenced Paul Douglas to 24 years in prison. Paul is accused of sexually assaulting 11 children 43 times over a period of more than 10 years. Sydney Downing Center District Judge Sarah Huggett sentenced Paul on Thursday.

Paul was arrested in the year 2019 and after his arrest, the trial continued for four years. Paul is accused of committing these crimes while he was a swimming coach in Sydney Southwest. Investigation revealed that Paul sexually abused children from 1996 to 2009.
While giving the sentence, the judge said that the accused, while being a swimming coach, created such an environment among the children in which he used to openly talk about sex and joke with the children. Besides, he also implicated the children’s parents with his words in such a way that his crime remained hidden for more than 10 years. Paul has been accused of sexually assaulting children up to 10 years.

Let us tell you that Paul Douglas has also participated in MasterChef Australia and reached the final stage of the show. Douglas, 48, was arrested at his Sylvania home in 2019 after being charged. After this he lost his job at the University of New South Wales. Now Paul will have to stay in jail till June 2047 and only after that Paul will be able to get bail.
