Madhuri Dixit Opens Up On Her Relationship With Sanjay Dutt In His Bio-Pic
The love affair of Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt was the hot topic back in the 90s. Unfortunately, the love affair took a different turn with TADA (Terrorist and Disruptive Activities) arrest of Sanjay Dutt 1993. Since then, both never read the same page again.
After Sanjay’s arrest, Madhuri had even announced to the press that they were not romantically involved. And with Sanjay Dutt’s biopic is soon to see the day of the light, recent reports claimed that Madhuri Dixit had called the makers of the film starring Ranbir Kapoor and asked them to remove all references to their relationship from the film.
Denying every rumour on the same, in an interview given to a tabloid, Madhuri Dixit said that the topic is of no importance to her anymore and she has not made any calls to director Rajkumar Hirani as reported
“For where I am today, this [the topic of Dutt] has become redundant. Life has come a long way since then. I don’t know where these reports are coming from. In any case, it doesn’t make a difference to me,” said Madhuri when quizzed about the film. While Sanjay Dutt has been twice married since then, Madhuri Dixit too started a family with American doctor Sriram Nene.
Hirani had reportedly heeded her request and removed all mention of Madhuri from his film. But there was buzz that television actress Karishma Tanna would play a character based on her. However, later, it was clarified that instead Sonam Kapoor will play Sanjay’s Dutt’s ladylove and her character will be an amalgamation of all of his love interests in the ’90s, which includes names like Tina Munim.
