Lisa Haydon Slut Shamed For Promoting Breast Feeding. Disgusting.

Many of us not know that the first week of August is World Breastfeeding Week. The event seeks to raise awareness about breastfeeding and popularise it as many of the parents aren’t aware of its benefits in many of the country. India has been supportive of breastfeeding, and it is a widely accepted part of motherhood. In spite of that, a huge number of people decided that it was wrong to talk about publicly. When actor and model Lisa Haydon recently posted a photo on Instagram of her breastfeeding her son, people wasted no time in slut shaming her for it.

I've gotten loads of posts asking about life after having my son… esp to do with weight and fitness. Seeing as it's World Breastfeeding Week- time to give some credit where credit is due. Breastfeeding has played such a big part in getting back into shape after giving birth to my baby. Breastfeeding has been challenging+time consuming (literally hours spent everyday trying to stimulate milk supply) but it's such a beautiful way to bond and connect with your child plus all the nutritional benefits that your child gets from your milk. After Haydon posted the picture, many people commented on her photo, including fellow actor Amy Jackson, applauding her for helping spread awareness about an important issue. Even though many women breastfeed in India, the numbers are still on the lower end of the spectrum. But all of this was of no consequence to many people on Instagram, who instead horribly slut shamed Haydon.
