The calendar today marks the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale who holds the title of being the founder of Modern Nursing and also the International Nurses Day falls today. Therefore, we have decided to dedicate this article to the nurses working day and night with such dedication and compassion.

A touch by them sparks the feeling of home. In the current times, they are the most dedicated frontliner workers who are busy devoting their time in saving lives and caring for patients despite the fact that they may get exposed to the virus which can risk their lives.

The theme for the current year is ‘Voice to lead — A vision for future healthcare’. No healthcare system is complete without nurses. They hold the system and the team together in the palms of their hand. Their role is very vital since they look after everything from their medicines to their oxygen level. As per the latest report by the International Council for Nurses, almost 1.6 millions nurses have been exposed to the virus and they still stand strong.

The Chief Nursing officer at WHO tweeted ‘To nurses everywhere:  Happy International Nurses day! Thank you for working round the clock to keep us safe during the #COVID19 pandemic. Thank you for the difference you are making, every day and everywhere. #IND2021 #ProudToBeANurse’

In the middle of the chaos happening in India, our nurses have truly shown courage and have shown utmost appreciable performance without even blinking their eyes for a second. We salute the nurses and thank them with our heart. We are truly blessed that they exist and will always guard us like their own child.

Shoutout to all the nurses working tremendously and showing dedication plus hard word during this pandemic. They have saved lives. You are our hero , one thank you is not enough. As florence says,

And what nursing has to do in either case, is to put the patient in the best condition for nature to act upon him’ will always be close to our heart.
