25 January 2023 ( New Delhi ) : Kangana Ranaut is back on Twitter. After a suspension that lasted almost two years, the actress posted on her unverified account on Tuesday saying it was ‘good to be here’. Within 24 hours, Kangana started a controversy with a Twitter thread, where she lambasted the ‘stupid’ film industry and the celebration of the arts as blatant commercialism. Many Twitter users felt that the timing of the tweet – on the day of Pathan’s release – meant Kangana was hinting at its success.
Actress Kangana Ranaut whose Twitter account was earlier suspended is back on the micro-blogging site. He has recently completed the shooting of his next film ‘Emergency’. On Tuesday, a Twitter account managed by Kangana’s team tweeted, “Hello everyone, nice to be back here.” Soon after the post was shared, several users including some celebrities took to the comments section to welcome her. His fans also joined him and celebrated the occasion.
n three tweets on Wednesday morning, Kangana wrote,she said the purpose of art is not to make money and some artistes are “polluting the fabric of the nation”. “Initially art blossomed in temples and spread to literature/theatre and eventually to cinemas. It is an industry but not built for major economic gain like other billion/trillion dollar businesses, hence art/artists are worshipped” not industrialists or billionaires.So even if artists indulge in polluting the fiber of art and culture in the nation, they should do it judiciously and not shamelessly.While Kangana did not name any film or artist, Twitter users called her jealous of Pathan’s success. One user tweeted, “She is jealous of Pathan.”
Kangana’s next film, Emergency, features her in the role of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Directed by him, he recently said that he had to mortgage his house to make the political drama. In a post, she said, “Today as I wrap up shooting for Emergency as an actor… A very wonderful phase of my life is coming to its full end… It may seem like I have put it to rest.”
Besides this, Kangana also has Tejas, Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda, The Avatar: Sita, a biopic on Bengali theater personality Noti Binodini and Chandramukhi 2 lined up.
