Here’s a bad news for all the GoT fans.

Game of Thrones Season 6 ended on a high note and went on to become the most popular season ever. However, soon after the season got over, the fans received a bad news regarding the next season and HBO confirmed that the next season would be only 7 episodes, instead of the usual 10. That being said, another news the will surely disappoint the fans of GoT is its delayed release date. Yes, the next season of GoT will be releasing a little late than usual. The season is expected to release two months late than its usual release time.

The decision was taken as the Game of Thrones team wants to shoot scenes during winter, which meant that shooting started in September instead of July and will get over in February. As a result, the season 7 would premiere date has been shifted from spring to summer.


As the shooting started late, people had started speculating the release date to be late May or early June but now we have a definite answer to the question, which you are not going to like it.

On the IMDB page, the season is listed for the scheduled release date of 27th June. We can’t independently verify in what depth the news is true. If this news is to be believed, then it means that the season 7 will premiere exactly after 2 months of release date of season 6. The 6th season of Game of Thrones was released on 25th of April.

Taking into consideration that the 7th season has only 7 episodes, the season will premiere on 25th June and the season finale will air on 6th August! We know that there has been no official announcement regarding the season 7 premiere date and we must take this with a pinch of salt but even during season 6, IMDb had mentioned on its page that Joseph Mawle (Benjen Stark) was going to return in episode 6 and it did turn out to be true. Hence, we can’t completely ignore this release date mentioned on IMDb as just a speculative date.
