Hackers Will Soon Release The Season Finale Of Game Of Thrones!
Be ready for GOT E7 as soon as possible.
When Game of Thrones season 7 episode 6 was accidentally released early by HBO last week, many fans pleaded with the network to just be done with it and release the final episode too.
It’s possible they will get their wish, albeit through less kosher means.
The group behind the HBO hack who goes by the name “Mr. Smith Group” threatened over the weekend to follow up their script leaks with leaks pertaining to the season’s final episodes.
“Be ready for GOT S& E6 &E7 as soon as possible,” the group warned HBO (sic), in an email forwarded to Mashable.
It may be bluffing in terms of having ownership of the actual episodes themselves – both the leaks this season have come directly from HBO – but it is possible they have a script outline for the final episode similar to the ones released for episodes 4 and 5.
HBO declined to comment on the latest threat, referring publishers back to this previous statement:
“We are not in communication with the hacker and we’re not going to comment every time a new piece of information is released. It has been widely reported that there was a cyber incident at HBO. The hacker may continue to drop bits and pieces of stolen information in an attempt to generate media attention. That’s a game we’re not going to participate in. Obviously, no company wants their proprietary information stolen and released on the internet. Transparency with our employees, partners, and the creative talent that works with us has been our focus throughout this incident and will remain our focus as we move forward. This incident has not deterred us from ensuring HBO continues to do what we do best.”
Game of Thrones season 7 concludes on HBO, Star World and Hotstar on Monday morning.
