Hackers threaten to leak Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 online if a ransom isn’t paid!
We are sure your friends from IT sector have informed you by now about the attack taking place on the world’s cyber network. Yep, hackers have launched a worldwide attack on the internet with a ransomware named WannaCry. While governments of various countries of the world deal with the problem, Disney has landed in deep trouble with online hackers. According to reports carried by Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, some hackers are holding the upcoming film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales at ransom and are threatening the production house that they will leak the movie unless they are paid a huge amount in bitcoins.
Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed the hack during the town hall meeting in New York on Monday. Though Bob did not reveal which movie hackers have stolen, online entertainment portal Deadline claims that it is the inches close to release Johnny Depp adventure -the fifth PoC movie. Though bets are also there on the next release Cars 3, as per a few other reports by other portals.
The hackers have threatened that if their demands are not met, they will release the first five minutes of the movie that is with them, then the next 20 minutes of it and subsequently release the whole film. And this is no empty threat. Just a few weeks ago, pirates threatened Netflix to release the new season of the popular TV series Orange is the New Black on The Pirate Bay if a ransom is not paid. Netflix refused to pay and suffered the consequences as the hackers indeed released the whole season online way before it’s intended premier
Disney has refused to comment officially but The Hollywood Reporter has got in touch with insiders who say that the production house is no mood to pay the ransom.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales opens in theaters on May 26th. Hope you all make the right choice
