Janmashtami or lord Krishna’s birthday is one of the biggest events that have the festive spirit in Delhi and cities around with jhaankis, food, cultural performances, shopping etc.
Observed on the eighth day (ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the month of Shravana, this time it will be celebrated on August 14 and on August 15 in some parts this year. Celebrate Janmashtami with Kathak dancer and founder of Bharatiya Sangeet Saran, Uma Sharma and her disciples. From enacting stages of Krishna’s baal leela to chapters from the Bhagvad Gita, the dancer has been performing on various themes of Krishna since last 30 years. This year, she will present Krishna Raas Leela in Kathak and Brij Raas style.

This art show brings the spiritual bliss that Lord Krishna’s life is associated with, through artworks. The painting works depict the bond of love that was shared between Radha and Krishna. They also reflect Lord’s philosophy of setting their heart on their work, without any wish for reward.
