No Fear No Favour

From ‘Queen of Hills to Queen of Bollywood’ Happy Birthday ‘Sharma Ji’ Here are 6 statements made by Kangna that ruffled the feathers of some of the bigwigs in Bollywood.

Kangna Ranaut is a 3-time National award winner and four-time Filmfare award winner, more than any other of her counterparts of recent times. She is known for not mincing her words and expressing her opinions without thinking much about the outcomes. She is one of the highest paid actresses in Bollywood. The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress has created a space of her own and kept the hope alive that outsiders can also claim to fame in Bollywood.

Though the small town girl from Himachal is widely applauded for her artwork, she often than not find herself in one controversy or other.

We bring you, on her birthday, a list of several statements made by Kangna that raised many eyebrows…

When Kangana asked Deepika to leave her alone

Kangana and Deepika Padukone’s cat fight is the hottest talk of the town. What started with Deepika missing the screening of TWMR, is still going strong. At an interview, when Kangana was asked what her relation with Deepika was, she blatantly said that she just wanted to be left alone. She also added that she doesn’t appreciate it when people interfere in her life.

I am the best in Bollywood and there is no serious competition to me

In an interview to a leading national daily, Kangana confidently claimed that there is no competition to her in Bollywood. And no other actress could pull out performances alike Queen and Tanu weds Manu. Though she is undoubtedly one of the best actresses available in India, this statement of hers invited a lot of flak from the film fraternity.

When she demanded equal payments for both male and female actors.

At a time when Bollywood is obsessed with their male actors, actresses like Kangna are breaking the stereotypes. Kangna had done several woman oriented films recently and claimed a lot of name for herself.

Kangana, who is known to experiment with her roles, is the highest paid actress of Bollywood. When she came to know about this, she said, “I think the kind of films and roles I do takes a whole year… I think it is justified. At some point, we have to come to that place where we are equally paid. It is a small step… we are headed to that direction.”

Kangna’s take on her friends in Bollywood…

Recently, while Kangana was on a chat show, she was asked to describe the meaning of friends in the industry. According to her, good friends are nothing but f–ck buddies who have been promoted. ‘I don’t have any friends in Bollywood, they are just my colleagues.’ She was also quoted as saying.

When she called Karan Johar ‘Falg Bearer of nepotism in bollywood’

Recently when the ‘Krish 3’ actress attended ‘Koffe with Karan’ she branded the director-producer as the Flagbearer of nepotism in Bollywood. She alleged that Karan promotes the star kids in his films only and overlooks fresh talent. It didn’t go down well with Karan as he reverted back with advising Kangna to leave the industry if she finds it so hard to sustain here. Even many from the industry voiced their opinion regarding this and asked Kangna not to make such outrageous remarks.

On her choice of not attending award shows…

Kangna Ranaut said these awards hold no importance to me as these are all fixed and biased. Unfair preference is given to the blue eyed people of the organisers when asked about why she is not seen in the Bollywood award shows. Several other actors also echoed Kangna but some others differed by saying it can be Kangna’s own interpretation.

Kangna may find herself in different controversies, but it didn’t unnerve her. She always stood up for what she felt. She always had an opinion and never stayed back to express herself in the public. She lives her life on her own terms and we love her for that.

A very Happy birthday to Kangna again…
