Delhi to witness cracker ban in 2023 as well: Know More

The Delhi government has banned the manufacture, sale, storage and use of firecrackers as part of an action plan to curb winter pollution. The ban on sale and burning of firecrackers will continue in the capital Delhi this year also on Diwali. Delhi Government has issued these instructions to Delhi Police.

For the last several years, firecrackers have been banned in view of air pollution. The Delhi government has also appealed to the neighboring states to ban the sale of firecrackers. The Delhi government said it banned the manufacture, sale, storage and use of firecrackers as part of an action plan to curb winter pollution.

Delhi Government has issued instructions to Delhi Police that no one should be given licenses related to firecrackers. Let us tell you that firecrackers were banned in the capital Delhi last year also.

Announcing this, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that an appeal has been made to the neighboring states to also ban firecrackers. In view of the increasing pollution in Delhi during the winter season and the instructions of the Supreme Court/NGT, the Kejriwal government of Delhi has taken this decision.
