The day has finally arrived when Captain Amrinder Singh will take over as the next Chief Minister of Punjab. Captain Amarinder Singh took oath as the 26th Chief Minister of Punjab on Thursday in a ceremony attended by senior Congress leaders, including former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Sachin Pilot and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
Along with the Captain, Braham Mohindra, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Manpreet Singh Badal, Sadhu Singh Dharmsot, Tript Tajinder Singh Bajwa, Rana Gurjit Singh and Charanjit Singh Channi took oath as Cabinet ministers. Aruna Chaudhary and Razia Sultana will be Ministers of State.
Navjot Singh Sidhu took blessings from the Captain after sworn in as one of the cabinet Minister. It will be interesting to see which portfolio Sidhu gets in the Captain’s Cabinet. He was the third minister to take the oath of office and secrecy after Amrinder Singh himself and Braham Mohindra.
Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders present looked very happy as Punjab came as a saving Grace for them in recently concluded assembly elections.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to tweeter to send his best wishes.
