Canadian Singer Shubh Faces Backlash as Virat Kohli Unfollows, boAt Withdraws Support
Popular Canadian singer Shubhneet Singh, known as Shubh, is in trouble because some people say he supports the Khalistan movement in India. He’s scheduled to perform in Mumbai from September 23-25. The trouble started because Shubh allegedly posted a strange map of India on his Instagram, leaving out Jammu Kashmir and Punjab. He also posted something about Punjab when the police were searching for someone there.
A youth group called BJYM is really upset about this. They’ve asked the Mumbai police and the event organizers to cancel his shows and even want to file a police report against him.
Some famous Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya used to like Shubh’s music, but they’ve unfollowed him on Instagram now.
Also, a company called boAt, which was sponsoring Shubh’s tour in India, decided to stop sponsoring him because of some things he said earlier this year.
Now, people are mad at the ticket-selling website, Bookmyshow, for still selling tickets to Shubh’s concert. They’re saying that by doing that, the website is supporting Khalistan activists. So, there’s a lot of anger and controversy going on because of Shubh’s actions and the reactions from others.
