Assembly Election Results 2023 LIVE: How ‘Mahadev betting app’ led to the downfall of Congress CM Baghel in Chhattisgarh. Explained

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is facing allegations related to the Mahadev betting app, and these accusations seem to have had an impact on the Congress in the Chhattisgarh Assembly polls. The BJP has crossed the halfway mark of 46 out of 90 seats in the assembly, with Prime Minister Modi emphasizing corruption and a job scam during the campaign.

As per the latest trends from the Election Commission, the BJP is leading in 54 seats, while the Congress is trailing with 35.

Throughout their intense campaign, the BJP focused on criticizing Baghel’s government, accusing it of scams, corruption, and alleged ‘hawala money funding’ related to the Mahadev app, which has contributed to their success in the elections.
