“Bengaluru: Social Activist’s 20-Year-Old Daughter Found Dead; Mother Seeks Justice”

On Thursday, May 16, Bengaluru police reported the death of a 20-year-old female Commerce student at her home in the Subramanyapura area. The victim, identified as Prabhudhya, was found with her throat slit and multiple cut marks on her hands on the evening of Wednesday, May 15, according to India Today. The police have described the circumstances surrounding her death as suspicious.

The incident was reported to the police around 7:30 PM after Prabhudhya’s mother, Soumya, a social activist, returned home to find the front door locked and the back door open. Upon entering, she discovered her daughter’s body in the bathroom. A police team arrived promptly, sending the body for postmortem and recovering a suicide note from the scene.

Soumya expressed doubts about the possibility of her daughter taking her own life, citing her daughter’s resilience and openness. She also noted the missing mobile phone and the open back door as suspicious elements. Soumya, who has dedicated her life to rescuing children, is now seeking justice for her daughter, stating that Prabhudhya was raised with strong values and courage.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Lokesh Jagalasar, told Deccan Herald that a small knife was found alongside the death note. The police are investigating from all angles and are currently waiting for the postmortem report to proceed further. They have also sent the death note to experts to verify its authenticity. Meanwhile, an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) has been filed at the Subramanyapura police station, and the police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area for any suspicious activity.
