Battle of the Big Screens: ‘Animal’ vs. ‘Sam Bahadur’ Opening Day Clash

Vicky Kaushal’s latest movie, “Sam Bahadur,” faced tough competition on its first day at the box office against Ranbir Kapoor’s film, “Animal,” both released on December 1.

“Sam Bahadur” explores the life of the first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw.

According to Taran Adarsh’s update on X, “Sam Bahadur” earned ₹3.40 crore on its first day at national chains, with ₹2.80 crore from PVRInox and ₹60 lacs from Cinepolis.

In comparison, “Animal” raked in an impressive ₹61 crore on its opening day, overshadowing “Sam Bahadur’s” ₹3.40 crore debut.

The Hindi version of “Sam Bahadur” had an overall occupancy rate of 29.18%, while “Animal” achieved a higher 62.47% occupancy on its first day.

Despite “Animal” receiving criticism for graphic scenes and Rashmika Mandanna’s character portrayal, it still earned praise for its entertainment value. On the other hand, “Sam Bahadur” received positive reviews from audiences, with some praising its strong dialogues and battle scenes.

Vicky Kaushal’s performance in “Sam Bahadur” is being well-received, and the film is gaining traction for its portrayal of historical events. Audience reviews suggest a promising response, making it a movie to watch out for.
