24 January 2023 ( New Delhi ) : Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul tied the knot at Suniel Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse on Monday. The bride and groom announced their wedding on Instagram. The pictures from the wedding went viral on social media within minutes and later a short video of Rahul and Athiya also surfaced on social media.Sharing pictures from the wedding, the couple wrote, “In your light, I learn to love…” Today we married our dearest loved ones in a home that has given us so much joy and peace. With hearts full of gratitude and love, we seek your blessings on this journey of togetherness.
There were hardly any glimpses of the high-security wedding but on Sunday, Sunil had promised paparazzi to click pictures with the newlyweds after the wedding. He told the paparazzi on Sunday, “Main bacho ko kal leke aata hoon . Thank you very much for the love you showed.” Athiya wore a pink lehenga for the special day, while Rahul looked dapper in a beige sherwani.
Earlier in the day, Suniel Shetty greeted the media persons gathered outside the wedding venue and announced that he has now become a father-in-law. In the evening, the first video after the marriage of Rahul and Athiya was also made public and this video went viral on seeing it.
Ajay Devgan, who starred opposite Suniel Shetty in the 1994 film Dilwale, was the first to wish her on her daughter’s wedding. Sharing a throwback picture of Athiya and Rahul on Twitter, Ajay wrote, “Congratulations to my dear friends @SunielShetty and #ManaShetty on the marriage of their daughter @theathiyashetty to @kirahul. Here’s wishing the young couple a blissful married life.” Wish. And, Anna, here it is.” A special shoutout to you on this auspicious occasion love Ajay.
Rahul, 30, is the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team in Test cricket. Athiya, 30, is the daughter of actor Suniel Shetty and made her Bollywood debut in 2015 with “Hero”, directed by Nikkhil Advani. Pre-wedding celebrations can be seen at Sunil’s Khandala farmhouse on Sunday. The whole house was lit up and many guests were seen dressed in traditional clothes and dancing to the music.
