Alibaba and the challis chor? Thieves decamp with Ram Rahim’s dress, shoes
An unidentified group of people on the nights of Saturday and Sunday targeted Naamcharcha Ghar of the Dera Sacha Sauda located in Daboda village in Jhajjar, Haryana and decamped with several electronic items besides the dress and shoes of Dera Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim. The premise was abandoned by the followers of the Dera Chief Ram Rahim after his conviction in two separate rape cases on August 25.
According to the police, a security guard used to be deployed at the premises had stopped performing his duty after conviction as he would no longer get his salary but still he would take a round of the premises out of courtesy. On Sunday morning, he spotted broken windows and checked inside to find many things missing.
The police said that the thieves decamped with an inverter, two batteries, one computer monitor, four CCTV cameras, an amplifier and mattresses beside the dress and shoes of Ram Rahim that was kept as his idol for his followers to pray. The police have registered a case against unknown persons under Sections 380 (theft) and 457 (house-trespass) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Rohtak range Inspector General of Police (IG) Navdeep Virk had earlier claimed that the police have sealed all Naamcharcha ghars of the Dera in Rohtak range. However, local police said this one was not sealed. The local police said that they had instructed Dera supporters to not gather here anymore and not organise any type of functions.
