When Akshay Kumar opened up with the idea to have a scheme for the stuntman and stuntwoman of Bollywood, the idea was applauded well, not only with the Bollywood stunt actors but also with all of the people living in the country.
In March 2016, when the actor pens down the strong worded letter, he said “You deserve so much more than just a wage packet, and I hope I live long enough to see a change in that. I know that in my 25-year long career nothing much has changed! But it will, and I will try and make sure of that… Till then thank you and take great care. Good luck with the fight for your rights… RIP to all those who have lost their lives.”
Soon after launching an app and the website, Bharat ke Veer, to help people donate money directly to the families of martyred army jawans, the actor in now ready with the action plan of the new scheme which will provide the life insurance to the stuntmen and women in the industry.
The scheme has been planned and sketched by Akshay Kumar himself and noted cardiac surgeon Dr Ramakanta Panda, who operated on ex-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2009.
Just to jog your memory a little, Akshay has time and again emphasised how he is first a stuntman and then an actor. Akshay’s posts and views have always denoted that he strongly feels for the stuntmen and how their passion towards their craft deserves lot more validation and monetary benefits.

- In a case of death, Rs 10 lakh will be passed on to the appointed nominee.
