Afghanistan Embassy shutdowns all its operations in India: Know Why
Afghanistan has announced that it has permanently closed its embassy in New Delhi. This information has been given by issuing a diplomatic mission statement of Afghanistan. The statement said that their decision to close the embassy in New Delhi becomes effective from November 23, 2023. The government of Afghanistan says that they are facing continuous challenges from the Indian government, due to which this decision has been taken.
Let us tell you that the operations of the Afghanistan Embassy in New Delhi are closed since September 30. The Government of Afghanistan has said in its statement that they could not get cooperation from the Government of India, after which after waiting for eight weeks, they have decided to close the Embassy of Afghanistan in New Delhi. Afghanistan has said that according to the Vienna Convention 1961, a demand has been made from the Indian Government to give them the custody of the property, bank accounts, vehicles and other properties of the Afghan Embassy. Afghanistan has also claimed the amount of about five lakh dollars kept in the bank accounts of the mission.
The Afghanistan government says that keeping in mind the major changes in policies and interests, the decision to close the embassy in India has been taken. The Afghan government has also expressed gratitude to the Indian government for supporting the embassy. Afghanistan has said in a statement that in the last two years and three months, the number of Afghan people in India has decreased significantly and compared to August 2021, this figure has halved and during this period a very small number of new visas have been issued.
